Staff Dress: Professional dress is required of all staff. See ECPS Board Policy 7340 for detailed information. A good rule of thumb: Dress as you’d want to be seen if the superintendent and school board walked into your room. If in doubt, don’t wear it. Please also be mindful of our student dress code; it is up to us to model professionalism for our students. If they can't wear it, then you should not either.
If you plan to wear jeans, you must donate to the United Way (1st semester) and to Relay for Life (2nd semester). A United Way Representative will collect your donations for semester one and a Relay For Life representative will collect your donations for semester two. Jeans must be worn with a NEHS or college t-shirt.
Communication: If you are unsure about a choice a colleague made or question a decision, talk to them. Ask questions. Seek to understand. Make suggestions for how to do better next time. This is the only way we get better together.
Be on time: Be to school on time. Get to meetings on time. If we expect students to be on time to class, we must expect the same of ourselves.
Cell phones: Cell phones should be used during planning or lunch periods only, with the exception of emergencies. Again, if we expect students to put their phones away during class, we must do the same.
